SUI-05 Los cinco lagos // The five lakes

<<< English follows >>> Esta ruta es muy conocida por las estupendas vistas del majestuoso Matterhorn. Esta mole de roca está presente en todo momento y el camino permite disfrutar de su imagen y tomar muchas fotografías. El camino consiste en recorrer cinco conocidos lagos: Stelli, Grindji, Grün, Mosje y Lei. El éxito de la ruta depende de que el Matterhorn esté visible y de que no haya viento, para poder fotografiar el reflejo de la montaña en los lagos. Operativamente, la ruta comienza en Zermatt tomando el funicular subterráneo que te lleva a Sunnegga. Allí se cambia al telecabina que sube hasta Blauherd. Una vez en Blauherd, casi todo el camino es ya de bajada. Nuestra idea original era descender andando hasta Zermatt pero cuando íbamos por Sunnegga ya estábamos cansados y cogimos el funicular de vuelta hacia abajo. La parte superior de la ruta es monótona y sin interés salvo por los lagos y el Matterhorn pero el entorno arriba es el típico de una estación de esquí en verano: todo despejado y sin relieve. La segunda mitad de la ruta, en la parte inferior, ya hay más bosque y es más bonito. A primeros de julio hay bastante gente pero no llega a ser incómodo. Tampoco hace frío. Desafortunadamente una cara del Matterhorn ha estado todo el día cubierta de nubes y ha soplado viento así que las fotos no han sido como esperábamos. Mañana probaremos de nuevo. <<< English >>> This route is well known for the great views of the majestic Matterhorn. This mass of rock is present at all times and the trail allows you to enjoy its image and take many photographs. The path consists of touring five well-known lakes: Stelli, Grindji, Grün, Mosje and Lei. The success of the route depends on the Matterhorn visibility and on the lack of wind, to be able to photograph the reflection of the mountain in the lakes. Operationally, the route starts in Zermatt by taking the underground funicular that takes you to Sunnegga. There you change to the cable car that goes up to Blauherd. Once in Blauherd, almost all the way is already downhill. Our original idea was to walk down to Zermatt but when we were going through Sunnegga we were tired and we took the funicular back down. The upper part of the route is monotonous and without interest except for the lakes and the Matterhorn but the environment above is typical of a ski resort in summer: all open and without relief. In the second half of the route, the lower one, there is more forest and it is more beautiful. At the beginning of July there are quite a few people but it does not become uncomfortable. It is not cold either. Unfortunately one side of the Matterhorn has been covered in clouds all day and the wind has blown so the photos have not been as we expected. Tomorrow we will try again.
