This track is part of the Sultanstrail, a cultural long-distance hiking trail between Vienna and Istanbul. This track is part of the Sultanstrail, a cultural long-distance hiking trail between Vienna and Istanbul. This track leads further through the Rhodopes, following the River Haidushki dol to Devils bridge, the spectacular Buynovsko gorg to the village of Yagodina and Trigrad, following mountain trails to Great Snezhnik- peak and down to the town of Smolyan.

My sister and I want to go hiking in Bulgaria this summer. Is this path from Borino to Smolyan marked well? And are there plenty of small cabins along the way to sleep in?
Niklas, the trail is a navigation aid.we use marked trails where possible, to navigate to Istanbul. In the section Borino Smolyan is enough accommodation available.
