Itinerary description

The starting point for this hike is the Venta del Frenazo on the C-440 community road.
Our route takes us for a short stroll along the C-440 before we enter the Cerro de las Cuevas where we track the Arroyo de Bacinete until we reach the Santuario Bacinete where you’ll find beautiful cave paintings and Neolithic Tombs.
The return leg of the hike follows the Rio de las Canas navigating the various farms in the area. Beautiful views are all in abundance.

Did the described walk today with the ICE Walking Group. Things have changed since 2019 and route very overgrown in places and difficult to follow. There is a new cycle / footpath from the Venta, by crossing under motorway almost immediately opposite which then leads tobwhere thechill climb starts. Avoids the road walk bit! Great area for walking , pity not more Walkers in this area as many trails we have tried are now very difficult or impassable. Cave paintings are still legible, but no signage , only a metal fence and gate chained and padlocked if you know where to look! We enjoyed the walk anyway, that is the important bit.
