Itinerary description
The Cerro Alfaro is a landmark hill in the Tabernas Desert, and one that features in many movies. The original plan was to walk around the eastern side of the Cerro Alfaro, from Mini-Hollywood to Rioja. However the hike proved to be too hard due to some steep hills and the inpenetrable Barranco del Grillo (Crickets Canyon). And because the temperature was rising we were forced to cease our effort, and walk back to Tabernas. The scenery in this area is breathtaking, so it wasn't all for nothing.
