Itinerary description

Tabernas 2017-10-13

This was my second attempt at using Wikiloc, following another trail. I only activated GPS recording later in the trail, and it skipped part of the trail so it is not entirely accurate.

Start at Mini-Hollywood and descend from the stairs into the Rambilla de Genaro, and take a left to the Rambla de Tabernas heading north. About 250m after passing the bridge there is a tunnel to your left. Go through the tunnel and follow the riverbed. This path requires some light climbing now and then, nothing too hard. At the end of the riverbed you will find "Nueva Frontera" the abandoned movie set of Alex Cox's "Straight to Hell". The trail starts 100m west from there. This part of the desert has some spectacular vistas.

Note: Around the 3.5 to 4km mark, I took the wrong descent from the plains into the Rambla del Infierno. A few hundred meters north there should be an easier way to reach the riverbed. At the end of the Rambla del Infierno it is a little tricky to reach the lower riverbed leading to the Rambla de Tabernas.
