Itinerary description
Amazing trail, probably the best I did up here in the mountains of Anaga. It's very well preserved and it has signs to follow all the way. Its almost impossible to get lost. I did it alone and I felt nice because it's a trail that people do a lot so I was never completely alone, which made me feel very safe.
As a trail, it has everything:
- Mountains
- Sea
- Gorges
- Cool uphills and downhills
- Villages
- Great views both of the mountain as well as the ocean.
If you are around and you want a wholesome experience, I definitely recommend it.
In my opinion, it was better to do the last uphill from Afur to Tanagaga, mostly because, even though you gain lots of elevation, its nicely balanced and you don't get too tired.
On the other hand, the downhill down to Tanagaga was very steep. So it really depends on each ones preferences. I personally prefer to go downhill on a steep path than climb it.
Last but not least, from Tanagaga to the beach there were some parts with "Falling Rocks" warning signs. There was no problem but I wouldn't like to cross these parts with rain or wind.
All in all, it's an amazing trail to do, if you plan to visit Anaga mountains to hike, don't miss it.
