Itinerary description

Start by going up Mt Butler Rd to the steps that lead from the quarry to the Hong Kong Trail. After climbing over Mt. Butler, a steep descent with many rocky steps leads down to the Quarry Gap Pavilion. Take the small, single lane Mount Parker Rd (closed to traffic) down to Tai Tam Reservoir, where you cross the dam wall before following the Tai Tam Family Walk back to Parkview. Return to Mt Butler Rd via the Tai Tam Country Trail and Wong Nai Chung Tree Walk.

I have followed this trail  View more

A 5 star trail. Up to date, can be followed 100%. Beautiful scenery. With a small adjustment you can extend it to make it even a longer one. Very highly recommended, we had a blast doing this trail. Just keep in mind that this is a moderate difficulty level. No special equipment, no dangerous paths (basically all the time starting on the trail), but this is quite a longer one (around 6h if you extend it and take a scenic route) and we did around 16km total, so remember to bring sufficient water + food. Also you need to have proper endurance, as once your are in it there is no easy half way return point. Anyways - highly recommended!
