Tatras Eslovaquia: Baranec

Ruta circular que asciende al pico Baranec (2184m) desde la localidad de Žiar. Salimos del parking Parkovisko Žiarka dolina. Es una subida sin ninguna complicación técnica, con poca roca pero con mucha pendiente, en 6 km realizas un desnivel positivo de +1250m.

Al principio la ruta transcurre por un bosque y siguiendo las marcas alcanzamos un cruce Holý Vrch donde ya hemos cogido altura y se puede disfrutar de las vistas del valle. Desde aquí enseguida llegamos al pie del Baranec y tras una larga subida llegamos a la cumbre.

Para bajar seguiremos por el cordal, al principio con un fuerte descenso, hasta el collado Žiarske sedlo donde giramos a la izquierda para continuar bajando. En 3 km llegamos al restaurante Žiarska chata donde poder tomar algo y desde aquí solo falta bajar por una carretera hasta el punto de partida.

Circular route that ascends to the Baranec peak (2184m) from the town of Žiar. We left the Parkovisko Žiarka dolina car park. It is a climb without any technical complications, with little rock but with a lot of slope, in 6 km you have to do a positive difference of +1250m.

At the beginning the route passes through a forest and following the marks we reach a Holý Vrch crossroad where we have already gained altitude and you can enjoy the views of the valley. From here we immediately reach the foot of Baranec and after a long climb we reach the summit.

To go down we will continue along the ridge, at first with a steep descent, to the Žiarske sedlo pass where we turn left to continue descending. In 3 km we arrive at the Žiarska chata restaurant where you can have a drink and from here you just need to go down a road to the starting point.
