Reservations National Parks Unless you go up and down before 9 a.m., it is not necessary to request permission since it is included automatically when you have spent the night at El Refugio Altavista
*The ascent to the Peak or overnight stays are not recommended for pregnant women, children under 8 years of age or people with cardiovascular or pulmonary problems who should consult their doctor beforehand.

*IMPORTANT NOTICE: For security reasons due to mouflon hunting, the prohibition of access and permanence on certain trails has been established, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from May 5 to June 2, 2017 and from October 2 to 30. October 2017.
Las Cañadas Sector: 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pico Viejo Sector: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

SECURITY ADVICE:
In the high mountains, any prolonged physical effort is exhausting, dose your energy so as not to run out before time, advance slowly and progressively, wear suitable clothing, boots, a hat and sunscreen. Taking into account that temperatures can vary from degrees below zero to more than 30 degrees positive. With snow, the park may limit access only to federated members with the necessary material for mountaineering. Do not go off the established trails.

FLORA AND FAUNA:
We can contemplate the beauty of the red tajinaste, Teide violets, Teide daisies and pajonera grass. The fauna is very common to see the blight lizard, unfortunately four decades ago the Corsican mouflon was introduced in Tenerife for hunting purposes

GEOLOGY:
Teide- Pico Viejo stratovolcano formed in the Pleistocene by the accumulation of materials, during successive eruptions and is still active and you can see the fumaroles in its crater. The Teide culminates in a white cone whose crater is 80 m in diameter a maximum height of 3,718 meters above sea level: Being the highest place in Spain.
We can also see the Teide eggs or accretion bombs formed when lava descends a very steep slope and some solidified fragments roll down the slope.
Fragment types:
Juveniles: They are generated by the rapid cooling of the magma when the density < 1 we will call it pumice stone and if it is > 1 Slag.
Lithic: They are the already solid fragments thrown by the eruption, they can be of two types: Accessories when they come from the volcanic conduit and Accidental when they derive from the basement.
Crystals: They can be juveniles or come from pre-existing rocks.

HOW TO GET:
Bus/Guagua: Line 348 leaving Puerto de la Cruz at 9:15 a.m. to Cañadas del Teide returning at 4:00 p.m. Bus/Guagua: Line 342 departing at 9:15 a.m. from Playa de las Américas and returning from Montaña Blanca at 3:00 p.m. 30.
Guaguas/Bus

ROUTE:
We arrive by car at the Parador Cañadas del Teide at 4:00 p.m. We take the bus that will take us to the Montaña Blanca stop, where our route begins: A wide track will take us to the crossroads of the path that comes from Portillo, it would have been our starting point if it would not have been for the setbacks of the mouflon hunt. We begin a series of very stretched out zetas and we find the eggs of Teide, beautiful black bombs on the white surface. When we reach the crossroads where the ascent to the refuge begins, we approach to crown Montaña Blanca, which with its 2,748 meters above sea level, we have spectacular views from the Siete Cañadas sector, we retrace our steps to the crossroads and the real ascent begins. 2.5 km with 540 meters of difference in altitude, between white and black lava flows, a very well-kept path with numerous Zetas leads us to the Altavista Refuge. Being 8:30 p.m. more or less, we communicate our arrival to the guards so that they can give us a bed, the water is not drinkable but we can boil as much as we want, in the kitchen we can cook any type of food that we bring, as in all shelters we will not have to take all the garbage that we generate. There are three vending machines, one for soft drinks, another for coffee and another for appetizers or "snacks". The guard can provide us with change. From 3 in the morning many people get up and start making noise, very bad! We asked the guard and he told us that to see the sunrise, getting up at 5 in the morning was enough. We left around 5:30 with a Softshell front and gloves with a temperature of more or less 3 degrees. Very soon I will have more than enough coat since in approximately 2 kilometers we will ascend: 362 meters.

We arrive at the intersection of the Camino de Telesforo Bravo, there are 163 meters of unevenness and a length of 650 meters that will ascend us to the "roof" of Spain, it begins to lighten and soon we see the first rays of sun, the joy and happiness is immense that we share with José Manuel and Lucía who accompany us from the shelter. We spend a long hour contemplating all the corners of the crater, the views of the islands that surround us, the smell of sulfur is penetrating, hot stones giving off steam, in short, endless small details that will remain engraved in our minds for life. At 8:30 we are already at the upper base of the cable car, most of the staff who spent the night with us in the refuge will get off in the cable car. Except for a small French group who, with their guide, will go down to Pico Viejo and from there to the Parador.
We begin the descent by first finding the Pico Viejo viewpoint where you can logically see said volcano: On this descent the volcanic rock is very strong and abrasive and any fall, no matter how small, will be as if we were falling on top of a skimmer. The trail No. 12 Pico Viejo is very well maintained, but as I say we will have to be extremely careful, soon we will find a wash of white earth before climbing Pico Viejo and being able to contemplate its wide crater, said Pico has a height of 3,129 meters above sea level.
A small snack and we go down to take the trail No. 23 that will take us to Los Roques there we can see Los Roques Blancos, the Pahoehoe lava waterfall, La Catedral and already at the viewpoint of La Ruleta we can see the Roque del Cinchado said: Said Roque It was very famous since it appeared next to Teide on the 1000 peseta bills. The heat is already tightening and we have a snack at the Parador, ending this beautiful route.
Greetings to Juan, Juan Manuel and Lucia.

    Hola plenitud he encontrado esto.
