Itinerary description
Gemoedelijke rondwandeling vanuit Puertito de Guimar door het natuurpark 'Malpais de Guimar', een wild-mooi lavalandschap vol cactussen. Volg langs de kust het pad door de lavavelden tot aan de splitsing naar El Socorro (uitkijkpunt en rotsig strandje). Ga daar links omhoog tot aan de voet van de askegel van de Montana Grande vulkaan waar de weg splitst (bareel). Volg naar linksaf de voet van de vulkaankegel. Enkele minuten voorbij een uitkijkpuntje het smalle pad links omlaag nemen om terug te keren naar Puertito. Wandeling gedaan in oktober 2010.
Deze wandeling maakten wij als afsluiter na een bezoek aan de 'Piramides de Guimar' (ontdekt door Thor Heyerdahl, nu een fraai museum en parkje), die op slechts enkele kilometers van hier liggen. (N28°19'20" W16°24'46")

Easy walk from Puertito de Guimar through the Natural Park of Malpais de Guimar, a wildly beautiful lava-landscape with lots of cacti. Follow along the coast the path through the lava fields to the junction to El Socorro (viewpoint and rocky beach). Turn left, up to the foot of the ash-cone of the Montana Grande volcano. At the junction (barrier) go left and follow the foot of the volcano. A few minutes past a viewpoint take the narrow path down to return to Puertito.
We did this walk in October 2010, after a visit to the 'Piramides de Guimar' (discovered by Thor Heyerdahl, now an interesting little museum and well worth a visit). It is just a few kilometers from Puertito. (N28 ° 19'20 "W16 ° 24'46")

Todo correcto, excepto que la ruta no pasa por las pirámides de Güímar como aparece en una de las fotos, están en otra zona.
Thank you for your comment, Frenando. Indeed, the 'Pyramids de Guimar' are not on the route but a few kilometers away as is mentioned in the caption of the photo, but that is in Flemish. I will rewrite that caption in English.
