Itinerary description
The beach is beautiful with lovely greenish water surrounded by limestone mountains and lush greenery. The five-star Centara Grand Beach Resort is located directly on the beach with security guards asking you to sign your name in a book before entering the beach zone and signing out when leaving.
The trail starts here – by the end of Ao Nang Beach’s south end.
The "Monkey Trail", is a wooden pathway over the headland connecting Ao Nang with Phai Plong Bay. Its not the safest path after its been raining, as it gets all slippery from the rain. But, it is a beautiful walk and will take you around 20-25 mins to complete(each way).
Cant say I actually saw any monkey's, but did hear them screeching away in the tree's.
This part of the trail is more challenging, though, as it is steeper and longer. It takes about 1:15 hours to reach Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
Wat Phra Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai
Once you reach the road again, you’ll hike up until you reach the Naga staircase, leading you upwards to the temple. Here you won’t feel the serenity and peace found at Wat Pha Lat, but this temple is worth seeing. It shines thanks to its extravagant golden Chedi and its several holy shrines. The view to Chiang Mai city is also a highlight of this temple.
