Itinerary description
After two pretty intense days through the Jordanian desert, this day comes as an easy hike through green places (in the beginning). It also has a very pretty canyon after 2,5 kilometer which is without a doubt the highlight of this day.
An easy descent brings me to a green valley and on my way I'm seeing agricultural activities. Maybe agriculture is a bit exeggerated for the attempts of growing something in this desert. Nonetheless this is the greenest part of my entire trekking thanks to the plentiful water irrigation on the fields. I also pass a village and I even encounter a real road, the first one in three days. It's only a short moment however before I'm disappearing again in the Jordanian desert.
I explore the canyon after 2,5 kilometers which is quite narrow and a bit colder than I imagined. With the steep walls this canyon manages to impress me with both its beauty and its measurements. The biggest part of this hike is relatively flat (compared to the previous stages), although there are some moderate climbs and rock terraces waiting for me. Compared to the previous days it's almost impossible to get lost here, although the rock terraces can be a more tricky.
The second half of this track starts with an easy ascent and along the way I get again some great views of the environment. At a certain moment I was just laying on my back and before I knew I fell asleep thanks to a very active sun. The end of the day can become a bit more challenging as the sandstone rocks have to be crossed in a moderate hike. Due to the terrace-like nature of this climb it's not that difficult, although one or two descents can become a bit tougher due to the lose pebbles on the paths.
