Itinerary description
IMPORTANT: This is for experienced hikers only. Must have very good off-track navigation skills, be capable of scrambling for long periods in exposed areas, and have a high level of fitness. Given the isolated nature of this area the GPS record of this track is by no means perfect and should not be solely relied upon.
The actual distance of the hike is 27.84 kms with 815 m of elevation.
The walk starts at O'Reillys and follows the Border Track and Albert River Circuit before heading off track (nothing discernible to show where to leave the marked track). There are tape makers, but these are sparse and can be difficult to see, so again should not be relied upon. The climb in and out of the canyon is loose, steep and at times quite exposed and goes for some time. Rock hopping is required for a number of kilometres up the Albert River to get to the falls. Exit the way you came in.
