Is that one part a cable car to avoid the no dog zone? Is this map avoiding the ladders too? Thank you in advance
This map avoids the ladder section and the national park where dogs not allowed. There is no need to get a cable car with this map.
Hi, which part of the Tmb are dogs not allowed, within the national park? & where are the ladders? Are both these when you get back towards chamonix? Thank you
Yes, it's the same part! My track avoids that section
Ok thank you, there isn’t loads of information about doing the Tmb with dogs, I assume you camped when you did it? Other than the route which you avoided due to the national parks did you have any issues in Italy or Switzerland with your dog? Is it ok to take dogs here if they are on lead?? Thank you for your reply
Yes I camped all the way. There is no problem about having a dog. Just remember it should be on lead. I always used lead when I was in a village or I saw other dogs.
About where I camped, you can watch my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esKm-950ORo&t=1217s
Just remember I made it shorter than most people would do, so you may want to go slower.
Hi , thank you for the video and the information. I was wondering by the way why aren't dog allowed off lead if they are well behaved and have a good call back. My border collie is so great at being off lead and I'd rather her off, I am 100% confident with her behaviour around wild animals, people, high traffic areas etc. is it the law? or the norm? or is a preserve etc..
It's the law. I keep the leed around and then I only use it inside villages so no one will give me hard time.
Ola Rui!
Thank you so much for this precious info! I will watch the video. I want to do the TMB next year with our retriever and daughter, both of 5 years old!
Start training!
Fantastic, congratulations!
Your dog is beautiful and very sympathetic!
I like your way, because i was worried about the stretch where there is a ladder! I'll go with my dog, a border collie named Belmiro!
Please send us pictures and videos. There is also a Facebook group for TMB
Please, whats the name of group in Facebook?

Muito obrigado mais uma vez, já solicitei a entrada no grupo.
Hey, how many days have you been away? I will start the Route with my dog this August.

Hi! We did the Tour Du Mont Blanc with our dog last summer after watching your super useful video. Do you have any other recommendations for long distance walks with dogs? We were considering the GR11 but it is not easily accessible by public transport. Thanks!
Hi! I would do the GR11 but would have to studied the track! Can you please send me a picture of your dog doing the TMB and what's his name?

Sure I will! Thanks!
Hi there,
I’m planning on hiking the tour next month with my 2 shepherds, if the weather is okay… I’m also planning to camp all the way. But what about the food for the dogs? Did you bring the whole amount for the week or did you buy some in the grocery? I’m aware that most of the refugies are closed as well but what about the shops?
I took individual meals in poop bags for all the days. It added 2,5kg as she ate 300g per day for 8 days
