The sixth day of the Monte Rosa Tour.
Lucky you, this day it’s entirely downhill, except the brief ascent to the Colle Superiore delle Cime Bianche. Moreover, you’re back in Italy, so the quality of the food is likely to improve drastically.
Out of the Rifugio Teodulo head onto the plateau you see right below you; at the Bontadini station go south, pass next to the Laghi delle Cime Bianche and attack the northern slope of the Colle Superiore delle Cime Bianche. You can choose to do so either by walking the ski slopes or the tractorable road. Once at the pass, enjoy the view over the Valtournenche, that you just left, and the upper part of the Val d’Ayas, known as Vallone delle Cime Bianche. The latter, which you’ll traverse till you get to Alpe di Tzere, is decorated with countless streams, originating from aquamarine-blue lakes (like the Gran Lago and the Lago della Punta di Rollin) and cutting verdant pastures, sometimes creating peculiar marshes and ponds.
At Alpe di Tzere follow the indications to Alpe di Verra Inferiore and, once there, keep following the path to Résy, a hamlet where two refuges are situated, namely the Rifugio Guide di Frachey and Rifugio Ferraro.

Il sesto giorno del Tour del Monte Rosa.
Tanto meglio per voi, questo giorno è quasi interamente in discesa, eccezion fatta per la breve ascesa al Colle Superiore delle Cime Bianche. Inoltre, siete di nuovo in Italia, quindi la qualità del cibo probabilmente aumenterà considerevolmente.
Fuori dal Rifugio Teodulo dirigetevi verso il pianoro sotto di voi; alla stazione Bontadini procedete a sud, sorpassate i Laghi delle Cime Bianche ed attaccate il pendio nord del Colle Superiore delle Cime Bianche. Scegliete se raggiungerlo per le piste da sci o per la strada trattorabile. Una volta sul passo, godete della spettacolare vista sulla Valtournenche, che avete appena lasciato, e la parte alta della Val d’Ayas, conosciuta come Vallone delle Cime Bianche. Quest’ultimo, nel quale progredirete sino all’Alpe di Tzere, è intarsiato da innumerevoli ruscelli, originati da laghi blu acquamarina (come il Gran Lago e il Lago della Punta di Rollin), che, tagliando pascoli verdeggianti, creano peculiari marcite e stagni.
All’Alpe di Tzere seguite per l’Alpe di Verra Inferiore, per poi continuare seguendo il sentiero per Résy, un piccolo abitato dove si trovano due rifugi, il Guide di Frachey e il Ferraro.
