Itinerary description
Started the trail on the small road leading up to Tomies wood. There are parking spaces on the left hand side. You can't park any further past this point. When you walk about 50 yards up the road there are a number of signs saying Keep Out and Private Road. These were erected by the house just in front of you. From what I have read there is a dispute over access to Tomies wood. You are still able to use this access even though the man in the house says otherwise!
Continue up the road for about a half a km until you come to the entrance to the woods. You can follow the trail up and keep left. After about 3km you will come to O'Sullivan's cascade. A lovely waterfall that runs down to lough Leane. Coming back on the trail it continues up the mountain and loops back around and back down through the wood. You will arrive back near the start of the trail.

Great trail. Thankfully now there is a new carpark with parking for 28 cars. The tail is very easily accessed from the carpark.

This is a really easy and accessible trail especially that there is now the addition of the carpark and clear starting point. The only improvement could be to indicate the carpark more clearly from the road as it could be easily missed. Definitely worth finding as it has beautiful views over the lough and if you are lucky you may even spot a white-tailed eagle!
