Itinerary description
For this beautiful walk, a shorter version of the one we made called ' Acantillado Los Caños de Meca' we parked the car in the car park situated at the A-2233, an official entrance to the Parque Natural de la Breña Y Marismas Del Barbate.
From this entrance we took the shortest way to the extraordinary viewpoint of Torre de Tajo, indicated by green-white marks on signposts.
Before you reach the Torre de Tajo you walk through a beautifully wooded landscape at a height of about 95 metres with some glimpses of the ocean.
Once we reached the Torre de Tajo we walked a bit furhter until you see a track that leads you to the edge of the cliffs. From there we walked along the edge coming upon a beautifully situated bench wit a majestic view on Barbate.
From there the track goes to the Torre where you can also sit and watch the view and walk a litlle further along the edge of the cliff.
Continuing our walk, the path gradually descends all the time giving superb views on Barbate, its harbour, the ocean, the coast and the mountains inland. While going down the cliff face on your left will become steeper and higher which definitely gives an extra touch to the beauty of this walk.
Once we reached a fork on the track we took the left side and about 800 metres further on this track we took a narrow mountainbike path to the left which took us straight to the carpark.
This part of the walk is very attractive too.
