Itinerary description
The Torres del Paine Q-circuit is a 8 to 10 days hike across Patagonia, near the town of Puerto Natales. We did it in 9 days in February 2015.
This walk can be cut to 4/5 days if you only do the southern part called W.
This trek saw us experience all kinds of weather, from warm and sunny days to a blizzard! We aimed to complete the trek with no assistance from the mountain refuges that otherwise provide hikers with food, lodgings and other supplies.
There is a couple of free campsite along the way but you will have to pay for most of them.
Camping outside designated areas is prohibited.
The most challenging part of this trail is not exactly the difficulty of the walk but more the amount of people you encounter everyday. It is a very busy walk and you never get to be alone (especially at night where people tend to pitch there tent very close to yours).
Scenery is beautiful, trail is well marked and you can't get lost. There is flushing toilet and shower at almost every campsite as well as cooking room (you still need a campstove and gas). There is also Refugio where you can pay for a bed (if you don;t want to camp) as well as hot meal).
