Itinerary description
Lovely hike up really rocky paths to the cross between hills, starting from the free car park at the foot of the hill (Ronda Pau Casals), then up to the Castle, great views to the Bay of Roses and the Medes Islands although a bit hazy today. Then down the other side of Montgrí, up the neighbouring hill, then down towards the monastery past a large beehive shelter made with rocks. People were having picnics and bbq. Following path at the front of the monastery back up to the cross and down the same way we came up. Very rocky challenging terrain, not for the faint hearted! We did it very slowly… it could be done in less time (probably 2.5 hours)..
