Itinerary description
This walk will give you magnificent views of the chaine du Puys.
We started from the big carpark at the Col de Guéry and from there walked along the lake untile the Gr 30 veers away from it. When the track turns sharply to the right nearby a farm what follows is quite a steep climb, first to the open pastures and later to the summit of the Puy Gros from which you also have a magnificent view of Mont Dore and the Puy Sancy.
Going down to a junction at 1360m. we took the track to the right. If you go to the left here you can make a longer walk and include La Banne D'Ondanche.
This is a magnificent walk with outstanding views.

Very Nice route. Att 2/3 of the hike the route had changed I think by a Farmer. In the end we Made 500 mrt more. Inge en Johan Netherlands

Scenery
Difficult
De omgeving is heel mooi en soms zelfs spectaculair. Na 7 km is de route, zo te zien, permanent versperd (vanwege een Natura 2000 gebied). Omlopen is nodig en vanwege nog een versperring al met al extra 1 km + 115 pittige hoogtemeters.
Los van de extra km beoordeel ik de oorspronkelijke wandeling niet als gemiddeld maar als moeilijk vanwege twee steile en lastige hellingen en na het hoogste punt ook een lastige afdaling.
Bedankt voor je reactie. Moeilijk of gemiddeld is soms een lastige afweging. Wij hanteren de afweging dat als je kunt blijven lopen en je geen handen hoeft te gebruiken het niet moeilijk is.
Ok, als dat je criterium is, is de kwalificatie gemiddeld terecht. We hebben onze handen maar een paar keer hoeven gebruiken
