Itinerary description
2 day tour of the Grand Ballon, from Guebwiller.
1st day:
Guebwiller to Markstein, via Grand Ballon peak - 28km
2nd day:
From Markstein to Petit Ballon, then going down to the Valley - 28km
This is a 2 day version of 3 day hike recommended by the Guebwiller tourism office. It’s probably easier in 3 days. The weather was great and I had a good pace so I decided on the way to make it a 2 day one.
The tourism office sells a custom IGN trekking map focused on this itinerary, at a cost of 18€.
Nice hike, I recommend it
