Phew. Recce session this time bears fruits. We managed to somewhat re-opened the trail, from Kor Hill towards Ulu Beranang/Puncak 18 Hill. It took a lot of work, energy and time, however, totally worth it!
The last time that we knew of somebody who went and did this trans trail, was in January 2022. So, you can imagine our trepidations, knowing that nobody else attempted this trail, since then, that it'll be tough.
Over on Kor Hill side of the trail junction, it's basically gone. Same goes with Ulu Beranang Hill's junction. The only difference is, Ulu Beranang's side is fully covered with bamboos, fallen trees and rattan. While Kor Hill's side of the trail, it's fully covered with vegetations and fallen trees, and of course, complete with thorns.
We've already decided collectively, to cut just enough for us to get through, any potential obstacles, and not waste our time and energy, fully clearing the trail in-between these two hills. We took turns so as not to just rely on one hiker, fully exhausting him/her. But damn, the obstacles are thick. So thick, it completely obscured almost all old ribbon markers from view. The old ribbon markers itself is another problem. Most of it, the color has faded, and stained with dirt, making it indistinguishable from fallen leaves that stuck on branches, to which we continuously mistaken as ribbon markers, looking from a distance. The trail map that we used, the trail itself is fully covered with vegetations, rendering it close to impossible to get through, without really straining ourselves. But, we don't have a choice. There's no turning back, which is another set of problem, on its own, if we did.
So, soldier on we did, hacking and slashing every/any vegetations that obstruct our goal, just enough to get through to the other side. Some areas of the trail was so thick with combos of plant-life, that we had to re-route the original trail. That's why, if you look closely at my movement, on my trail mapping, you'll notice a lot of zig-zaggings. That's because it's either I was exploring alternative route compared to the one established on the old gpx map I was using, due to impossible-to-clear obstacles, OR, the ribbon markers itself was completely obscured.
Nonetheless, we completed it. Yeay.
PS: There is only 2 Water Sources, one before reaching the Kor Hill/Ulu Beranang/Puncak 18 junction, and another is before reaching Broga Hill. And the distance in-between these 2 Water Sources are very far, at least 11km (-/+). Best to at least carry 3l of water.
Also, we could've got out earlier, by an hour, if it weren't for one of our team members, who got lost, understandably due to sheer exhaustion. But of course, we don't leave anyone behind. Some of us (not me. I'm bloody exhausted too!) went back to get our lost team member. You know who you are🤣🤣🤣

Congratulations! I want to attempt this particular route too. How about the track? Are they confusing? Enough marker? Can I possibly make it in 12 hours, i.e. 0700 - 1900?
The teamwork spirit
The ability to work together to accomplishment towards a common goal.
Congratulations to all
@izzudin072, to be honest, there were only 4 to 5, out of 11 of us that went in, who were dedicated enough to continue chopping away and push through. And even then, we already planned beforehand, to only chop our way, just enough to get through, and not to fully clear the old trail, because if we were to fully clear it, we would've come out much later, probably up to 20 hours. So, if you intend to attempt this particular trail, you'll need help. The mixture of thorns, rattans, bamboos, fallen trees and bushes are still pretty thick for the most parts.
In terms of ribbon markers, we did our best, but we ran out of ribbons, 5 to 6 km, before reaching Ulu Beranang/Broga Hill Junction. After that, we relied heavily on the old ribbon markers (which is another problem on its own. All the red color has faded, stained with dirt, turning it into almost impossible to notice, or totally obscured from view, due to fully closed, natural obstacles), and we marked any trees, along the way, with cuts. From Kor Hill's Trailhead, towards Ulu Beranang/Puncak 18 Junction, or to Kor Hill's summit itself, there is no problem, since the trail is well-established, and the locals hikes there a lot. Same goes for once you reach Ulu Beranang/Broga Hill Junction. The biggest obstacle is between these 2 junctions. It has not been used since January 2022!
And, as mentioned, the old trail were fully closed, between these 2 junctions, close to 90%. And if you were to look closely at my movement, via my mapping, you'll notice that there's a lot of zig-zaggings. This is because I spent a lot of times exploring off-trail, from the old gpx map that we were using, looking for alternative way, either to get around a very tough spot to chop through, or because the old ribbon marker was completely obscured from view, due to how thick the obstacles mentioned has grown.
So, unless you're an expert map navigator, with a team to help with the obstacles, honestly, 12 hours, very unrealistic for now.
I would still encourage you, or anyone else, to still attempt this, because this way, the trail would be more accessible.
All the best!
@erickschai8, true enough. And with your leadership, and your vigor to further explore unknown, hardcore trails, we will always be ready, to go through it all, with you. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thanks for the explanation Michael. Appreciate it!
Looks like I have to bring an army of choppers and at least 2-3 who can navigate.
@izzudin072, no problem. Besides enjoying the trail, any trails, it's also has become my main passion, to record as accurate as possible, not just the trail, but also any extra infos, which is highly important (i.e; water sources, landmarks, etc), so others can/may utilize the infos recorded. Small contribution, to the hiking community.

5th Aug 2023. me and gf attempted his trans. Kor to Genting rompin to Broga.
This is a very tough hike with many fallen bamboos covering the trails. We did not spot any water source except after broga hill near the durian orchard. we ran out of water by midday and keep going without water.
we were finally out to civilisation at 2:45 am. Thank god we keep our cool and slowly hike out
any hikers attempt to do this please be prepared for a tough one
Phew... Thanks the universe y'all got out, safely. Yup. Guess nobody else beside y'all went in this trail. And, as expected, it's closed again. Nevermind. Y'all made it. That in itself is an achievement! ,💪🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💪🏿
