Stage with a capital letter to Dragnag, one of the most beautiful and hardest of all the trekking with the passage of Cho La Pass through the Cho La glacier.
We left very early, with snow from the door of the Lodge and again with a forecast of snow throughout the morning. We start leaving Dzongla behind, the first meters turning around every moment to contemplate the impressive Cholatse behind us.
After going up the path taking a slope the real ascent begins. Already above 5000 we are getting closer to the Cho la Glacier and its path.
It is impressive to reach the glacier and see that mass of ice. After approximately 1 km above the glacier, we reach the pass, which is accessed by a climb that has a chain to help you, although it is not impresindibles.
The pass is a true spectacle, at 5420 meters, many mountaineers rest there and have a snack.
After taking photos of rigor it begins to snow so we set off.
We resumed the march, going down the path marked out in the moraine, helped by steel cords and handrails, since in some sections the stones are slippery and it was very vertical.
After passing a moraine and an intense slope, we begin the descent for several km towards our destination for the day: Dragnag.
