Today's day is one of the easiest of the journey, with only a short but strong climb and with a difference in level that is overcome slowly but without difficulty despite the fact that we will reach 5,000m of altitude and the lack of oxygen is increasingly noticeable. .
We head north, along the same road that goes to Nang Kartshang, but we will continue halfway up the valley that goes north, following the course of the Lobuche river that runs to our left under the Taboche and the Cholatse.
We continue halfway up the slope for several kms until we cross a small bridge over the Lobuche and ascend to Thukla. Right after, and after a tough climb, we arrive at the Everest Memorial, a magical place where hundreds of Sherpas and mountaineers who have lost their lives in these mountains are remembered.
We will continue north, reaching the end of the Khumbu glacier, the highest on the planet and which starts from the very foot of Everest. The path continues through the enormous scree to Lobuche, where we will prepare tomorrow's assault on Everest Base Camp.
