Trail photos
Trail going up to Fansipan peak (3143m), the highest point in Vietnam. And go back the same way.
5:15 departure from hotel in the center of Sapa
5:45 start of the trail
10:00 arrival at the peak
10:30 start of descent
12:00 lunch at camping 2
15:45 arrival back
Trail with a high degree of difficulty, both due to the total elevation of more than 1600m and the distance of almost 21km.
There is the option of going up the trail and going down by cable car, which greatly reduces the level of difficulty. Or camp at campsite 2 and attack at dawn, but I opted for the 1-day day trip challenge and it was worth it
Note: when I finished saving I saw that Wikiloc is showing the peak at 2614m, but the correct one is 3143 (and starts at 2000m).

Hi, sound like great fun. I want to do the same. Sid you need a guide, or is the trail easily and well marked?
Hi Ole, it is actually great fun, I recommend! The trail is easy to follow but a guide is mandatory according to the park rules, and they will check at the entrance
