Itinerary description

This linear hike starts at the big parking of Ströden (6 €/1 day). From there, for aprox 1,5 km the forest road leads you to the hut Islitzer Alm, which is the junction point of many other hikes.
Now the forest road changes to a steep trail by the river, with nice sights of different waterfalls for another 3 kms. Afterwards, this trail becomes a little bit lighter and narrower along lush vegetation and with the river at the bottom. The view is constantly wonderful, with the Daberbach valley on the left and the glacier in the front.
Very easily you will reach the hut Clarahütte, where you can recover some energy for the return way.
Due to a recent landslide, which destroyed a bridge in the path, currently it was not possible to get to the glacier and we could walk only along one additional kilometre after the Clarahütte.
The return way to the parking along the same path is very comfortable and in constant and soft descent.
