Itinerary description
Walk begins behind the caves at Maro, a small village a few kilometres to the east of Nerja and well connected by bus. The first 5k is along a dirt road leading to El Pinarillo picnic area and is the least interesting part. The climb itself begins 2k beyond the picnic area at the base of Barranca de los Cazadores, at a point where the road doubles back on itself at a small white pumping station. The path is to your right, up the slope out of the barranca, and may take a few moments to locate.
After this, the way is always clear and well marked, and the views up and down the coast are stunning.
