Trail back hiking tour that goes up to the formidable and steep summit of Krcin Peak - Rising high above the Radika river valley.
Up at the summit △2341m, the remains from the Church of the Holy transfiguration of the Holy Mother of God are to be found , which signifies the religious meaning and the monastic activities on this mountain. This adventure represents an epic and vivid mountain hiking experience with historical and mystic Ortodox importance.
Starting from the trailhead we hike up through the forest to reach the exposed slopes above the timberline. Leaving the timberline the route for the summit starts through exposed and exciting terrain On the Krcin summit an enjoyable almost endless view is opened overviewing the surrounding valleys on both -the Macedonian and the Albanian side. On our way down we will enjoy a lunch break on the ledge above the steep slopes where the small Church is located.
Depending on the group interest and favourable weather conditions, an additional peak can be added in a round trip -Peak Rudina 2241m - following the col and extending the tour for 2-3 hours.
Depending of the return time, within our options are to visit the St.John The Baptist monastery -a thousand year old monastery with deep religious value for the Macedonian people and significant importance for the Ortodox Christianity in Eastern Europe -where a fragments of the Jesus Christ cross and relics from st.John The Baptist can be found.
