Itinerary description

An easy walk from Valldemossa to S'estaca
This is a nice affordable one-day experience, which can be performed by most people who are used to a healthy stroll. After a relatively short stretch of "highway", you come into a long beautiful quiet country road, which tapers to a not-too-steep mountain road with hairpin bend - and finally a nice quiet, (mostly horizontal), dirt road on your journey out to the fishing village S'Estaca. (Which by the way brings you right past Michael Douglas Spectacular Mansion along the coast line).

Do not let the mountain road with hairpin turns deter you from going this tour - it is a great and beautiful adventure that you can not get from a car.
The cars drive relatively slowly, and you can hear them in good time - the main danger is probably cyclists running down soundless, - but with a little forethought, you should be quite safe.
We made the round trip with breaks and lunch on approximately 6 hours. Thus, we were back in Valldemossa at 4 o'clock - just in time for an afternoon nap and then dinner :)

Deep down at the coast you can see Port de Valldemossa. A perfect spot for lunch - especially if you have chosen to visit this fine little port after seeing S'estaca, and need some energy to get up the mountain again.

Easy walk. Don't miss the junction where the dirt road starts (and leave the asphalt road to Port de Valldemossa) at waypoint 17 which is well indicated on picture 30/59. It was summer and very hot so we hitchhiked the way back which is a slow but very long climb. There is no bar for refreshments in S'Estaca, just the bay for a swim.
