Itinerary description

This is a hike over urban paths, forest trail and logging road (mostly the latter). Although the journey is not remarkable, the views at the end certainly are! The trail ascends the hills on the south side of the Cowichan Valley to a spot where you can see from the edge of Lake Cowichan in the west all the way east to the hills near Duncan (Mt. Provost, Mt. Tzouhalem). On this day we could even see the top of Mt. Baker on the mainland.

This hike is best done in the fall when the colours are on the trees. If hiking it on a hot summer day bring lots of water because you are mostly hiking in the open.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 3 B.
