Itinerary description
Prägraten - Wetterkreuz - Bergersee - Prägraten
This round hike begins at the parking in St. Andrä (Prägraten). We decided to try this variant of the well-known Mush Panoramaweg, ascending by a paralell trail of approx 8 km (nr. 72+80), which is a very steep trail under the shadow of the pines of the forest. If you like this hike, I recommend to follow this direction and not the other way round, because the descent of this first part could be very slippery.
Once you reach the lake Bergersee, you can have a break in the Bergerseehütte, just at the edge of the lake, and take wonderful photos.
Now, to return to the starting point, you can follow either the short or the long part of the traditional Mush Panoramaweg. We took the long way, because the weather conditions were fine and there was no risk of storms.
The panoramic views from now to the end of the excursion are unforgettable.
We also had a break in the hut Lasnitzenhütte, with idilic sights and delicious warm meal and desserts.
The last section, from this hut to the parking, will be covered in just 1,5 hours.
Amazing and recommendable hike.
Warning:
- no fontaines, apart from the water in both huts.
- the other way round is not recommended due to the slippery downslope of the first 5 km, especially in wet conditions.
- pullover and raincoat always un the backpack.
- walking sticks highly recommended
