Itinerary description
We did this hike with Kath's Group. We went in the coach to Vejer de la Frontera where we commenced our hike. There is a steep climb from the Tourist Office (where the coach parked) to where the route leaves the village. The walk runs along wide country roads and forest pathways. There are only two difficult parts before you arrive at the coast. One through a narrow part covered in mud and stones. The other is at the Wetlands of Barbate where it is necessary to walk through the sand dunes. Apart from being a nice walk through the countryside and a forest, the route has no views or other aspects to recommend it. When we arrived at the Cambing of the Trafalgar Lighthouse we had some refreshments after the 16 km walk from Vejer de la Frontera. Afterwards, we decided to walk to the Lighthouse, which is a 4 km roundtrip walk. The beach sand covered the greater part of the road to the Lighthouse, making the walk difficult.
