Venta Cómpeta – Fuente Luna, Pizarra
This is a linear walk, part of the delisted PR- A 118 (In reverse).
The route has been delisted probably because some of the route has tarmac.
The PR-A 118 is a Sendero de Pequeño Recorrido in four stages totalling 52km
I was pleasantly surprised how lovely this section of the old route is. There is a bar/ Restaurant at the beginning of the walk, Cómpeta Comendador.
The route passes through agricultural land, beautiful rolling hills and meadows, lots of trees on this route and thousands of lemon trees.
There are views of Gibralmora, and from the moon fountain (Fuente Luna), and parts of Pizarra. You can also see the two Alhauríns in the distance.
There is an optional deviation to the Museo del Arte, (unfortunately it was closed when I went), which you have to go onto the main road the A7054 for 300 metres, and is on your left. Note the road wasn’t that busy but take care.
This small complex comprises of a museum donated to Pizarra by the artist and sculptor Gino Hollander. There is also a nice restaurant and a Hotel on the grounds.
From here you follow the way back to the start.
