Itinerary description
The original plan was to walk in the Benalauria zone, but we abandoned this because of the forecast of torrential rain in the area. Instead we went to do the route Venta de Zafarraya to Alcaucín where they said it would rain less. The coach left us some two kilometres from the town at the start of the route. It is a mountain road all the way and it passes by the Picnic area, the viewing points of Alcazar, Miguel Alvarez, the Reservoir of Viñuela, and the Georgian Fountain before we reached the town of Alcaucín. It is an easy walk, but it rained for the whole route of 18km.
