It is about going through the fourteen stations of the Via Crucis. The path that, according to tradition, Jesus followed after being sentenced to death on the Cross.
The tour begins at the Sanctuary of the Flagellation and from then on we continue visiting each of the stations.
At each station I tried to set a waypoint except the third one that I was not paying attention to and I missed it.
At each station we read a text alluding to the scene, almost always from the Gospel, and then we prayed an Our Father, a Hail Mary and a Glory.
The route of this Via Dolorosa is through some streets of Jerusalem tucked into the market and traditional sales of the city. Lots of people, noise, discussions, etc.
You arrive at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, before entering, on the right and through some stairs that are now closed is the 10th. station and the others are inside the Basilica.
In order not to lose continuity, as soon as you pass the door of the Basilica, on the right there are some unpleasant stairs that lead to stations 11, 12 and 13.
You go down other stairs and find the place where they placed the body of Jesus to prepare it for immediate burial.
The last station is the sepulcher of Jesus that is ahead.
All very impressive. Very very highly recommended.
