Itinerary description
During our Youth Hiking in Digital Age project in Slovakia we had the opportunity to discover the natural heritage of this beautiful country. Our second hike was to Vihorlat Mountains (Sninský kameň peak), which is a volcanic mountain range in eastern Slovakia and western Ukraine. A part of the range is listed as a World Heritage Site. Although the weather was foggy and chilly, we could really enjoy the beauty and diversity of the nature. It was just like a magical fairytale. Hopefully we'll have the chance to return on a sunny day to admire the view from Sninský kameň peak.

Finally on the famous Sninský kameň peak (1006 m). Unfortunately we couln't enjoy the beautiful view because of the fog, and the weather was pretty stormy up there.

At this point a part of the group decided to visit the beautiful lake Morské oko, but we continued our way back to the car.

During our hike back to the start point we were amaized by the monumental stones.

At this point we crossed a small brook. One of us chose the wrong way and sank in the mud.

Finally we reached the main road which led us back to the start point of the tour.

Great and helpful descriptions! Thank you Bogi for all the details! Next time we should go there with better weather. Maybe we will miss the mysterious atmosphere of foggy day, but we will get the views from Sninsky Kamen instead ;)
