Itinerary description
The journey starts at Gjendesheim brygge, from where you take a boat to Memurubu hut. Please note that the car park is 2 km from the dock and you can park at the dock for a maximum of 2 hours.
The boat trip takes about 30 minutes, the first boat (2022) leaves at 7:45.
The road is very well marked. From Memurubu hut it climbs north up the ridge, and turns east at the ridge. It goes steadily up and down, gaining height until you descend slightly to Lake Bessvatnet. Here there is a slightly difficult passage along the ridge to the top of Veslfjellet (1743 m), and it is from this path that the most beautiful photographs are taken of the two lakes. This is followed by an easy but long descent to Gjendesheim hut and Gjende lake.
