Itinerary description
The trail is an old US Military built road that goes from the perimeter road of the island real close to the islands navy base to the top of the volcano. The trail is easy in that it is a dirt road that is used to carry fuel and service a generator for tower at the top of the volcano, it is moderate because of the dificulty of doing the 2500 foot climb in the heat of this Central America island. Lots of great views of the Golf of Fonseca!
