Itinerary description
Hot hot hot
We were approached by a military man with an AR15 at the old base, but we had permission so he let us pass. Brushy summit with no views, but the bonus peak of Cerro Chino (Cerro El Companario) was excellent.
There is a lot of historical significance surrounding this peak related to the civil war. This was the guerrilla stronghold and from here they began their siege on San Salvador, which ultimately failed.
Did I mention it was hot?
