Itinerary description

Wadi Tayyiba is relatively less popular compared to another hiking trails in the emirate. And so is a less explored hidden gem!

The trail is located in Tayyiba (Dibba - Masafi road) - Fujairah, and it starts nearby the Tayyiba museum.

You can park your cars in front of the museum (closer to the trail) or in the parking slots on the side of the museum road. The trail is actually behind the museum but you can see the signboard (WP-1 Starting) and just follow to reach the trailhead.

There is actually a well laid trail path by Fujairah Adventures (WP-3) which is relatively an easy one. The trail which i recorded is passing through the marked trail and then deviated (WP-4) from it, explored further deep in to the wadi, climbed some peaks and finally made it a kind of moderate+ level one.

At 1.5th km, there is an intersection point (WP-5) where you have to keep left to reach the summit. After another 500m, there is the summit at 590m altitude, from there you can see layers of mountains (surrounded), beautiful wadi in the front, dibba - masafi road view on the right side. After summiting, you can either return through the same way which will be an easy hike with some picturesque spots, or get down into the wadi to extend and make it a bit more tough/challenging hike.

"KINLDY NOTE THAT, GOING DOWN TO THE WADI WILL BE CHALLENGING AND DO IN YOUR OWN RISK" as i received some feedback from the followers.

Once you get down to the wadi then you have to pass though the rocks, boulders, bushes etc. After 3km, we deviated from the wadi (WP-6) and the climbed some peaks which ended up reaching an archaeological area and some farms.
Walking a bit through the off-road (in front of the farm) and climbing another peak eventually taken us back to the intersection point (WP-5). From there onwards, it was the same way we came in.

Overall it was a nice hike, with beautiful views, some small water ponds, green bushes, small trees etc. Even though its a small hike, i will rate it is moderate since the wadi is full of boulders and then some mountain crossings were done through the rock flakes / scree.

If you want an Instagrammable easy hike, just follow till 1.5 to 2km (maximum upto the summit) and then return back through the same way without going much deeper.

I was actually expecting golden grass over the mountains but surprisingly due to the recent rain happened, the valley is more of greenish now. With a cloudy blue sky i was able to capture some beautiful pictures during the hike.

The hike can be finished in 3.5 hours, i took ample time as i was spending more on taking pictures, flying drone etc.

Points to note:
- Mobile network is available almost t over the trail
- Trail is accessible with sedan cars
- Keep enough water / electrolytes etc. according to the climate
- Water presence in wadi / pools / springs depend on rain / season
- Check the pools and ensure it is safe before getting into it
- The grass in the valley may be green / golden colour depends on rain / season
- NO LITTERING PLEASE

After the area, we deviated the from the offroad and then climbed the mountain to return back to the Way Point - 5. While going up, please make sure that you are following the wadi (I tried to deviate a bit but ended up passing through extreme loose rock flakes which was really tough) So please follow the wadi which will eventually take you to the Way Point - 8

    Hi there.
Do you know if there’s likely place to camp near by? Did you drive passed anywhere?
    Thanks.

Hi, you can comp at the plain field after hiking about 1km.. but you have to carry your stuffs...

You can also camp at many areas beside the Dibba-Masafi main road..

Information regarding the trail head and starting point was great, however this is NOT a simple climb. It was dangerous coming down the mountain with very difficult sheer drops between down the rock face. There was no obvious path we only followed as per the app and had to abandon the route at the furthest point as the trail was too dangerous along the steep side of mountain face with no path and a lose, rocky surface. Even as experienced hikers we found this dangerous and inaccurate as per description and could easily have ended with us being stuck as at many points it was impossible to turn back. We eventually had to abandon the trail and walk along the road adding 10km to the hike. The area is stunning but I would caution anyone following this route.

    Hi Rebecca,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have faced such difficulties.. If you read properly in the description it is very well mentioned that the easy hike is only upto the summit or if you follow the well laid path by Fujairah Adventures..

I hope i had clearly mentioned about the risk going down as it is a wadi with full of boulders and no proper path.. Even in the way points I have warned about going down..

    Always study the trail well..
Know your limits, someones Moderate will be difficult for you..
Wikiloc is just for reference only and there will be GPS jumping errors...

I m glad that you have reached back safely without anu casualties...🙏🏻

Thank you for your contribution. Instead of a loop, I did a one-way, and it was fantastic. Did it twice. It’s picturesque, lots of vegetation, and I liked that you took a path other than the one laid out.

    Very nice trail.

It is challenging going down as stated in the info section, however thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would recommend having the right shoes is important and wearing gloves as you need to use your hands in many places.
