Wicklow, river and cliff, walks,19 Sept 2021

This route was on my list for some time, and just after the lifting of restrictions following the pandemic we decided to make the trip one sunny morning. We travelled from Dublin Connolly station to Wicklow by train. A beautiful train trip, along the coast with spectacular cliff and sea views. On arrival in Wicklow, we followed the river walk from the Railway station to the town. From there we walked to the Cliff area and followed the route, which has been much improved by the Local Government. It is truly a pleasant walk. We arrived at the beaches where the seals enter to give birth to their young. We met some young members of the Seal Protection Group who explained the lives of the seals. They say the best time to visit is in late Winter or Spring. We returned to the town, had a lovely meal in a Restaurant in the main Square. We travelled by Expressway Bus back to Dublin. A nice walk, moderate and requires careful attention to the dangerous areas of the cliff.

Esta ruta estaba en mi lista desde hace tiempo, y justo después del levantamiento de las restricciones por la pandemia decidimos hacer el viaje una mañana soleada. Viajamos desde la estación Dublin Connolly hasta Wicklow en tren. Un hermoso viaje en tren, a lo largo de la costa, con espectaculares vistas al acantilado y al mar. Al llegar a Wicklow, seguimos el paseo del río desde la estación de tren hasta la ciudad. Desde allí caminamos hasta la zona del Acantilado y seguimos la ruta, que ha sido muy mejorada por el Ayuntamiento. Es realmente un paseo agradable. Llegamos a las playas donde entran las focas a dar a luz a sus crías. Conocimos a algunos miembros jóvenes del Grupo de Protección de Focas que nos explicaron la vida de las focas. Dicen que la mejor época para visitar es a finales de invierno o primavera. Regresamos al pueblo, comimos muy bien en un restaurante en la plaza principal. Viajamos en Expressway Bus de regreso a Dublín. Un paseo agradable, moderado y que requiere mucha atención a las zonas peligrosas del acantilado.
