Wilkahuain - laguna ahuak - paso del zorro - laguna malloc - wilkahuain

IMPORTANT INFO AT THE END

This circular route is quite demanding since paso del zorro is at 5000m. If u havent aclimatated you coud get altitude sickness. From laguna ahuak to el paso del zorro is 2.4km but if you're not used at walking at high altitudes it will take a long time so take that into account.

How to get there:
I went there at 6:30 with a taxi. The price was 30S. I'm not sure if colectivos already leave from huaraz at this hour. However i do recommend going with taxi since it's going to pick you up at the hotel, which means that you'll be able to wake up later. The trip is like 30-45min i think (don't take my word on that)

How to go back:
The cheapest solution and the one i used is colectivo. It should cost you no more than 2-2.5S from wilkahuain. I think you can take it from the town before also but it will cost you 3S. If you don't see any just ask the locals, they will know. Ps: someone told me that they only pass until 18:00 but i cannot assure you that the info is correct since i took it at 15

As you can see the starting point is not in wilkahuain. This is because i forgot to turn on wikiloc. You have to take the path that has a sign next to it that says ahuak, which is just a street above the cementery

The last lake you can see in the mal i went to the right of it because the trail was marked like that. However all of a sudden the trail stops. Since i was following another wikiloc you can see i just turned left. However i think that the other wikiloc is not right. If you follow my route after the third lake you will have to cross a fence, which is not ideal. Logic tells me that if instead of turning left i had went straight maybe i would have found the path again. However after you cross the fence you can see some nice huts next to a road. From there the path i did is correct again. Sorry for the inconvenience
