Itinerary description
Yeghjervasar mountain ( Եղջերվասար ) is a summit in the Aregouni or Aregunu mountains ( Արեգունու լեռներ ), Tavush province, Armenia.
The height of the mountain is 2599 m.
Yeghjervasar is located within Dilijan National Park ( Դիլիջան ազգային պարկ ) and this is one of the best mountains if you search moderate trekking in Dilijan city.
The mountain is also well known under the name of " Pokr Maymekh " or Small Maymekh ( Փոքր Մայմեխ ), as it is situated close to " Mets Maymekh" mountain ( Big Maymekh).
~~~ Here some information about this trail: ~~~
▶ I’ve uploaded another trail of Yeghjervasar ( the descent route is different ), which is more comfy and less steep, so I’ll suggest choosing that one if you haven’t hiked that way. Search for “ Yeghjervasar mountain / Classic trail” in my trails’ section.
But if you prefer mountain slope hikes more than forest hikes and are ok with steep descents, this may be more interesting option for you.
▶ The hike starts from Dilijan outskirts (Puchur Dilijan area) and ends in another part of the city, close to " Lernayin Hayastan '' Soviet timeս sanatorium.
▶ The first part of the hike you head to the mountain through the woods following "Dilijan - Parz lake" trail, then you turn off the blazed trek and keep the direction to the mountain.
▶ After reaching Yeghjervasar summit we go down mountain slopes till we join jeep treks entering the forest
▶ We haven't met dogs, but there were some farmyards on the way to the summit and on the way back, so be cautious from April till October.
▶ If you want to make the hike more challenging and catch up to Mets Maymekh summit as well, I'll suggest starting from Semyonovka village, head to Mets Maymekh, then head to Yeghjervasar keeping the right direction while going down. After getting to Yeghjervasar follow this way to Dilijan (Puchur Dilijan).
SEASON
▶Doable:
Season starts from mid April till December. It is doable also in winter months if you like snow hikes. The climate here is normally fairly mild.
▶Best Season:
From mid May, June, early July - green, flowery meadows
October - amazingly colorful fall, nice temperature.
