Itinerary description
The route starts at the entrance of Ein Gedi natural reserve. The entrance costs money (20 ILS as of March 2016), you can avoid the fee if you do the trail in reverse. The reserve is opened from 08:00 to 16:00, so it is advised to begin the trail early.
The trail begins with an ascent to mt. Ein Gedi for a magnificent view of the Dead Sea (the ascent is physically demanding), follows to Nahal David which is dry most of the year, but may contain water in the winter, and culminates in mt. Ishay.
