Itinerary description
The walk starts at km40 on the A402 road between Ventas de Zaffaraya and Alhama de Granada. After a short and easy initial climb the walk descends steadily towarda Alcaucin passing through three recreational areas. At the second of these areas you should be able to rely on the availability of toilet facilities. The final descent into Alcaucin is steeper than most parts and requires some care in places on the rough track. However this section can be avoided if you wish by remaining on the metalled road as you approach the village.
Our group left cars at ALcaucin and Puente Don Manuel, then took the early bus 0830 from Puente Don Manuel to Km 40.

Thank you for listing your walk. We followed it today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very good description of start point. We caught the 8am bus from Velez up to km 40 which is easy to see on the road signs in green all the way up from Puente don Manuel. We caught the 4pm Carlos bus back from Alcaucín after enjoying a good rest in a bar there.
Will hopefully follow a few more of your trails in the coming weeks.
