Itinerary description
start of our walk on the edge of Venta de Zafarraya (Province of Granada) which lies at the foot of the north face of the Sierra Tejeda Mountains surrounded by green pastures and vineyards, with pine forests climbing the mountains. The walk starts in the Sierra de Tejeda National Park. The walk is along wide tracks with fabulous views. The first 3km is a steady climb with easy gradients. The track levels out for the next 5 km to our lunch stop.
After the lunch stop, as Alcaucin is at a much lower altitude than Zafarraya, it is downhill all the way and we can enjoy stunning views over the white villages, mountains and Lake Viñuela (Axarquia). As we exit the park we walk down into the village of Alcaucin on a stretch of concreted road
