Itinerary description
Best time to ride is August or September. It climbs to Hurricane Pass which has a good view of the Tetons. Many riders go back the way they came, however for the adventuresome, the map shows the route down Roaring Creek Canyon.
If you choose to go down Roaring Creek notice that the route goes high along the S side of the valley. Do not go down to the Creek. The trail is not there. Look for rock cairns. You may lose your way or end up following a dead end trail branch at least once. Have a map or your GPS with the track loaded. I like this kind of adventure. You are passing down a canyon much less traveled. On the final descent, I dismount and walk because the trail is steep and eroded. Give the horse a break but watch your feet.

This is not a good trail in the roaring fork area. Definitely NOT recommended, best to avoid. Horses have had to be put down traveling there. Cairns are consistently removed as they are illegal anyway.
