BALANDRAU (2585m)
Horseback riding route organized by the Cowboys de la Selva Association in August 2008 with the participation of 5 horsemen.
The starting point and arrival was at the Bat Bat beach in the town of Vilallonga de Ter (Ripollès).
The route was planned to reach the summit of the Balandrau and to make a circular route but the bad weather and the fog was decided to avoid incidents to descend by the same route of ascent.
As you go up the hill, you enjoy the landscape, flora and fauna of the high mountains.
Leaving the starting point of the track, you climb a cemented track that later becomes a forest path that goes over the village of Abella and connects to the track of the Green Collada. About 3 km take a path that climbs through the spruce of the Sierra de San Bernabé to Puig d'en Bullici (1880 m).
At Pèl-de-Ca (1940 m) is the partition line of the terms of Pardines and Tregurà and continues parallel to Puig de Mont Roig, Collada Meianell, Tregurà-Pardines and Puig Cerverís.
From the Collada dels Llenyassers (2290m) the horses must constantly rest due to the strong slope, lack of oxygen and atmospheric pressure. Little by little and step by step the horses are slowly rising and reach the top of the Balandrau.
The views over the Balandrau are spectacular: Torreneules, Pico de Inferno, Tira Pits, Valle del Freser, Fontlletera, Costabona, Taga ...
