Itinerary description

The track above is one way.

Frog Lake is the lowest lake in the series of Boulder Chain Lakes. These lakes are at the southern end of the of the Whitecloud Peaks. Frog Lake is just outside the White Clouds Wilderness Area.

This ride is usually done on the last day of the Wild Horse Ride (one of our WikiLoc Rides).

The Ride starts at the historic Levingston mine buildings and Mill which closed in 1954 and is an environmental cleanup site. The trail follows Big Boulder Creek for about two miles at which point it crosses over a wooden bridge. Big Boulder Creek is an impressive noisy stream. The trail then climbs on a fairly consistent 25% grade from 7700 ft to 9600 ft, after which It drops about 700 ft to the lake.
