Itinerary description
Located S end of Portneuf River Area, E side of Elkhorn Peak
The trail makes a loop between Mill Creek and Canyon Creek. Unfortunately for horseback riders, most other trails in this general area have been groomed for ATV use. The pictures show signs for other trails in the area.
There is a nice campground ($12 night, $60 night for group area) and a guard station ($50 night) for rent (through Recreation.gov).
Portneuf River Back Country Horsemen installed three hitching posts in the trailhead parking area in 2018.
